Marbella, September 26, 2024 – Marbella has taken a decisive step towards its digital future with the launch of Marbellup, an initiative promoted by the Delegation of Economic Development of the Marbella City Council. This project, officially presented on September 24 and 25, seeks to position Marbella as a center of technological innovation and digital transformation in Europe.

Two events, one mission: Driving digital transformation

On September 24, Marbellup held its inaugural event at the project’s headquarters, attracting local business owners, entrepreneurs and students eager to discover how emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and automation, can transform the local economy. The event was the starting point for Marbella to establish itself as a technology hub, capable of attracting talent and
companies from all over the continent.

On September 25, The Pool, a renowned coworking space in Marbella, hosted the second event, aimed at an international audience. This meeting brought together professionals and entrepreneurs
from all over Europe, who have chosen Marbella as their place of work and residence, attracted by the quality of life and growth opportunities in an increasingly digital environment.

Alejandro Freijo, director of the Delegation of Economic Development and promoter of the Marbellup initiative, commented: “Marbella is much more than a tourist destination. It is becoming a place where the
best professionals and technology companies in Europe come to work, collaborate and live. Marbellup is the catalyst for this change, and we are proud to lead this transformation from the Town Hall.

The Pool: A space for international collaboration

It has emerged as a meeting point for the international community in Marbella. This coworking space has allowed professionals and entrepreneurs from all over Europe to find in Marbella an ideal environment to innovate, collaborate and grow. The September 25 event highlighted Marbella’s ability to attract global talent, consolidating its position as a business hub and
growing innovation.

Alejandro Freijo underlined the importance of this space for the international community: “With Marbellup, we are creating an ecosystem that connects Marbella with the best of Europe in terms of technology and talent. This is a project that not only transforms the local economy, but also strengthens Marbella’s connection to the international tech ecosystem.”

Marbellup: A bridge between Marbella and Europe

Marbellup’s mission is clear: to make Marbella a benchmark in technological innovation and digital transformation of companies. The project focuses on connecting the city with the main innovation centers in Europe, facilitating collaboration between companies, entrepreneurs and professionals in the technology sector.

In the coming months, Marbellup will organize a series of trainings and events focused on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The first of these will be a course on digital transformation on October 14, where local and international companies will be taught how to improve their competitiveness using advanced technological tools.
